After so much hard work and dedication from our team, here is a teaser of the PROFI movie about the AMAZONE Catros 12003-2TS going across North America and showing Americans everywhere what this minimum tillage tool can do for them! If you weren't able to make it our to any of the demos, be sure to take a look at this amazing little teaser to a movie about "Adventure NORTH AMERICA"!
For those of you traveling to Germany in November 2017 to visit the AGRITECHNICA Farm Show in Hannover, visit the PROFI booth to meet Kathrin and pick up your copy of 'Abenteuer Nordamerika' or 'Adventure North America'.
Wisconsin has many European roots, making it the perfect place for AMAZONE to grow their presence. Families are more familiar with the name and know that AMAZONE has a long history of being a manufacturer of reliable equipment. This being said, T.I.P. Inc lined up some great demos for us in Wisconsin!
In Plainfield, WI we had the pleasure of demonstrating for Wissaukee Farms! The conditions were wet and extremely sandy, but the Catros 12003-2TS still impressed! We had demos in green corn and our viewers thought the Catros did a fantastic job. As you can imagine, these conditions are not easy and the weather was not in our favor, but we did a great demo and are thankful for the people who came out to see our 12 meter Catros in action!
Driving from one demo to another in Wisconsin has been great! Though many of the roads were small and windy, the compact transport size of the 40 ft Catros definitely drew attention everywhere we went. When we came to the fields it was a benefit that no one could deny.
Today in Plover, WI we visited Worzella Farms! They wanted us to run the Catros as deep as possible, and we truly pushed her to the limits! The potato vines were not kind, but in the end everyone was impressed with how well the Catros handled herself in the wet conditions. We believe this would have been the dream job of the AMAZONE Certos - a heavier compact disc harrow. Maybe next years demo?!
What a busy week it has been and we are only halfway through it! We were able to do multiple demos per day.. 5 demos in total so far and it is only Wednesday! They clay soil here in Beaver Dam, WI had potential customers wondering about maintenance. They were pleasantly surprised to find out how easy it is to change the discs, and that the discs are made of extra hardened steal. Larry, one of the Vanderloop Equipment salesman, was helpful in introducing us to farmers who were looking for a tillage solution.
Check out the great work that the Catros left behind on this beautiful Wisconsin field!
Wisconsin provided us with a few fields where manure had been recently applied leaving behind some extremely wet patches. Farmers were fairly certain that the Catros would plug because the competition had plugged. They were astonished to see how well it did / no plugging whatsoever! Also, in the hilly terrain, it was great to see the contour adapting frame do its job. All in all, another great leg of our Catros Performance Tour!
Last week was an extremely busy week! Not only were we excited to demo the Catros 12003-2TS at Parker & Sons Equipment in Claypool, IN, but we also showed PROFI Magazine around the US. PROFI is a prominent German agricultural magazine and they do a DVD for Agritechnica, the worlds largest farm show in Hannover, Germany every 2 years. We were obliged to show them a few differences in farming between Germany and the US... as well as some other differences!
When we were not filming agricultural operations, we were enjoying other great American hobbies or past times! Rodeos, drinking beer, shooting... so many wonderful things to do here in the USA!
So many people helped us to show profi the USA, we want to thank each and every one of you!
A special 'Thank You' is in order for the Parker crew for all of their help in putting together a great demo near Claypool, IN! Not only was the cooking from Mrs. Parker delicious as well as the barbecue, but the crowd was also great! We had many current Catros owners who came out to see the biggest Catros model, as well as people who wanted to see a 40 ft high speed disc in action! Everyone was impressed with the results! We had a lot of talk about how level the field was left but the Catros!
Our Profi Crew was on location to do some filming for the this years Profi DVD and everyone was very patient with them and kind enough to provide their fields for filming and tillage use. We can't say thank you enough!
After waiting 24 hours for permits on the Michigan boarder, On Track Trucking finally got the go ahead on Wednesday and made it to the first demo at a Farm Depot farmer in Elkland! Because of the time crunch and the fact that our CLAAS Xerion needed to be adjusted (tire pressure and counterweights), Farm Depot let us use one of their Challengers. It also did a great job pulling our 40 ft AMAZONE Catros across the field!
On Thursday, with about 30 farmers coming and going throughout the demonstration in Elkton, MI there was a lot of talk about how great the Catros left the field looking! Not only that, but how impressed they were to see the Catros penetrate even extremely hard ground. They didn't know that the Catros 12003-2TS could not only work at 40 ft, but also down to 28 foot in hard clay for an even deeper tilling. High quality bearings and hubs being oil filled was another great point for the Catros!
Friday morning started in Caro, Michigan at an organic farm. Here was another great turn out with farmers who do not use chemicals on their fields. They were absolutely stunned to see the 1.5 ft root systems being pulled out by the Catros! On top of that, the Catros left an EVENLY tilled land. And, a bonus, the transport width is only 10 ft!
Saturday, will be another busy day in the Lansing Michigan area! Come check us out near I96 and M52!
Next week come out and see us at Parker & Sons Equipment in Claypool, IN!
Born and raised in Germany, our 26 year old CLAAS Xerion Driver has a love of agriculture and a don't mess with me attitude. Kathrin Schmidt grew up on a farm near Frankfurt, Germany (the western region of the country). Though the farmland in Germany does not compare to the wide open and endless lands in North America, her father farms about 400 acres, which is an average size farm for the region. He farms a number of different crops including canola, winter wheat and barley, as well as some corn for biogas plants.
Her younger brother, Johannes, also studied Agricultural Science and, as is the custom, will eventually take over the farm. The Schmidt family farm has been handed down from generation to generation. They are a very close family and are very excited about Kathrin's chance to travel across America and demonstrate her skills as an educated farmer.
Growing up on the farm, she was introduced to agriculture at a young age and her interest in the field never went away! As a result, she studied Agricultural Science in college. During this time she interned at CLAAS and learned a lot about how the company has become such a successful company. She just recently earned her bachelors degree and is considering a masters in Agricultural Science.
She is a hardworking woman determined to show North America how minimum tillage was meant to be done! Having just finished her Agricultural Science degree, she is full of great ideas and motivated to help others succeed! This is why she wants to introduce you to the Catros 12003-2TS; a machine that gets the job done and saves you time and money with many working possibilities and uses.
Though only a recent addition to the AMAZONE team, Kathrin is a quick study. She will not only operate the CLAAS Xerion during our Performance Tour, but also answer any questions regarding the Catros! In the video below you can see her demoing the CLAAS Xerion - AMAZONE Catros combination to some very interested Canadian farmers last week!
On Track Trucking is right on track with this beauty!
A.M.S. Incorporated is also preparing for the big tour and will be picking up our driver in the coming days! Be sure to stay tuned for more tour updates and other surprises along the way!
Matt headed down to the CLAAS Factory in Omaha, Nebraska for some training on the CLAAS Xerion that will be pulling our amazing AMAZONE Catros 12003-2TS!
Have you been waiting to see the AMAZONE Catros in action? Well, wait no longer! AMAZONE in cooperation with CLAAS and A.M.S. Incorporated present to you the Catros 12 meter (40 ft) on the Performance Tour 2017!
The AMAZONE Catros 12003-2TS is being demonstrated tilling North American soil. This machine, during many of its demonstrations, is being pulled by a powerful CLAAS Xerion 500 horsepower tractor and operated by a beautiful German operatorESS! Yes, a confident German woman will be at the wheel!
Do you think a 40 ft tillage tool is too good to be true? Well, AMAZONE has made your dreams come true yet again! Whether you want to use the Catros for primary tillage, secondary tillage or for seedbed preparation this implement will provide you with the best results possible! In the spring the AMAZONE Catros creates perfect seedbed at working depths between .5 to 2 inches deep, in the summer the Catros mixes grain or bean stubble with dirt and cover crop seed to create a fantastic seedbed for this cover crop. In the fall it dices and slices corn stubble and mixes it with topsoil for fast and total decay of the corn residue so the following year corn root balls don't interfere with your next crop.
The Catros 12003-2TS is exactly contour following. The machine is built in four sections and each section can independently move from the sections next to it. For shallow seedbed preparation we advice smooth discs while for deeper fall work to slice and dice the corn, rice, cotton and other crop residue the notched blades work better. This tool truly mixes crop residue, manure, city sludge or any other product that you want to use with the soil.
If you are concerned with road transportation, the Catros is truly a Godsend. With a transport width of 10 ft and standard airbrakes (hydraulic brakes optional), this implement is one of the safest to travel with.
The expected dates of the Catros tour are from July 17th until August 31st, 2017!!
